My kitties
Rocky and Chinni are 5 year old applehead siamese cats. They are TRULY Siamese…one is never without the other! Sometimes its even hard to tell where one begins and the other ends

What kind of knitter are you?
Cute little knitting quiz. Here are my results. Not sure I totally agree, but the picture suits me
:
You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting and do it all the time. While finishing a piece is the plan, you still love the process, and can’t imagine a day going by without giving some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation involves leaving ample space for the stash and supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn ends and you begin.

Fiber Trends Clogs
This is the coolest pattern! A couple glasses of sparkling wine and 6 hours later, my first clog is complete. This is the largest size. I consulted with someone who has made these a couple of times and she sayd I am on track! Hard to believe though it just seems soooooooooo huge that you can’t believe it is going to felt into a real size.

What could be better???
What could be better??? Sitting here knitting, drinking a glass of sparkling wine, nibbling on cheese. Ok, golf would be better (it is a BEAUTIFUL day here) but until my shoulder is healed, it will have to do
Just beginning the Fiber Trends Clogs for my hubby. I can’t believe how HUGE they are prior to felting!

Puppy woes!!!
I am so tired today. Loki, our 7 month old Siberian Husky, has taken to waking us up at 5am with his whining! He doens’t need to go out…he either just wants to be with us or is ready to move around. Its not like we sleep forever! My DH is up at 6-6:30 every morning. We have tried covering the crate, taking him out then giving him a chew toy…well, the list goes on. I think tonight we are going to put a baby gate on our bedroom door, and try leaving the crate door open. First I have to make sure there is nothing the little “counter surfer” can get. That, is another problem on which to work.

Post surgery knitting
On a knit note…I was able to knit last night fine. Apparently the knitting gods saw fit that I should be able to continue through my pain and recovery. It’s really only things where I need to lift my arms quite a bit that hurt…i.e. cleaning, cooking and putting away dishes in the top cabinet. Woe is me
I started a shrug with some yarn that I purchased from ebay–cashmere luxury chunky (45% merino wool, 49% microfiber, 6% cashmere) in a great shade of red. I am knitting it on 2 circulars, size 15. I really wanted to sleeve to be more flared, but I think I may like this slight flare too. I can play with that more later.

surgery
I had my shoulder surgery on Wednesday and already went to physical therapy today. Overall everything has gone well so far. Turns out I had bone spurs and lots of inflammation. Guess I did REALLY need it unless I decided to become so kind of masochist.
I spent the rest of Wednesday sleeping off the anesthetic. I didn’t sleep well that night (big surprise!). Thursday I was in a lot of pain…more from a GRANDE headache than from the surgery. I finally got it knocked out by bed time and actually slept pretty well.
Today, therapy…UGH. Definitely some pain, but I can already see an improvement in mobility since Wednesday. No pain pills today, so it can’t be too bad, right? If it keeps improving each day as much as it did from Thursday to Friday I should be pain free sooner than I imagined!

at last
I won’t go into the whole background now, but I have had a shoulder injury since last July. I play a TON of golf in the summer including tournaments, so it has really been a bummer. Advil, Bextra, Celebrex, physical therapy and injection. Unfortunately, none of it worked
Soooooo, at my doctor’s office on Friday we decided on surgery. It is only arthroscopic, so recovery is relatively quick and I should have a chance to play pain free by July. YAY!

Butterfly Tank
Just finished my “Butterfly Tank” using Knit Picks Andean Silk yarn in the color “lettuce”. I think the middle butterfly design turned out really well. I am submitting the pattern to Knit Picks to see if they have an interest…keep your fingers crossed!
