Golf!
:happydance:Well it looks like golf is FINALLY in my future. I am having a good shoulder day and a date with the course. I can’t believe its really been 6 weeks since my surgery. It seems like such a LONG time! I think it was good for me to take a summer off from tournaments. Maybe that way I’ll really be excited to play in them next year.

Melanoma and defibrillator
I wish this was a creative title related to anything but the two topics, but unfortunately it’s not. This post is a bit depressing. If you’re not in the mood (who ever is for depressing stuff???) just don’t read it.
First the melanoma. My brother in law is a SERIOUS sun worshipper. We’re talking sun worshipping on the scale of George Hamilton. He has even had a melanoma removed before and yet there he bakes at the pool, week after week, year after year! This time it could be a serious problem. Not that melanoma isn’t always serious, but it may have spread to the lymph nodes this time. I am sure this weekend will be hell for him since he has to wait until Wednesday to find out.
Next, the defibrillator. This is for my husband. Yes, he is young (relatively:smirk:). Yes he is healthy. Yes he was cursed with a genetically weak heart. He had mitral valve repair surgery in December of 1999 and his heart rhythm has been a problem every since. What he has done between then and now to try to manage the rhythm is a VERY long story. To cut to the chase, his heart efficiency dropped to a level where he was approved for a new pacemaker/defibrillator called
Insync from Medtronic. We are hopeful that this will make him feel much better…keeping our fingers crossed!

YUM…felted bag
:happydance:Well not to toot my own horn (ok, I guess I really am) my felted bag turned out awesome! It is just what I wanted. I might actually have to submit the pattern.

Tempting
This is the “Tempting” top from Knitty. It has actually been finished for quite a while, but I just now got Jim to take a picture.

Felted Bag
I made great progress last night on the felted bag I am designing. Another night or two and I should be finished.

Barely awake…cause of my ineptitude today?
I finally went to bed at 5, despite not really being tired. I was rewarded by lying awake for another hour. I finally did get about 2 more hours, until the darling Loki decided to begin his morning whine.
I have spent much of the day fooling around with WordPress and the code on my new site. I have been pretty successful at tweaking/adding stuff. However, the links on the sidebar are sill a bit perquacky. My appologies for my insufficient knowledge of php.
Oh, and my spell check does’t quite work right yet.

Why am I awake?
I. HATE. BEING. AWAKE at 3 in the morning:cuss: (apparently, more like 4:28 now…still…not…sleepy…)
I should be
I don’t know what my problem is! Usually, this is my night:
10:00 p.m. Go to bed.
10:01 p.m. Pretend to watch tv if my husband wants it on.
10:05 p.m. I am sleeping.
2:00 a.m. Potty break.
6 a.m to 8 a.m. Get up, :java:
I need my sleep! I obviously sleep a LOT. Did I mention I need my sleep?

British Open
Watched the open this weekend! Boy is that making me want to get out there and play. On top of that, the ladies club championship began yesterday and I obviously am not there. I had a follow up appointment with my doctor on Friday and I got the ok to start hitting some balls! YAY! Unfortunately, the weather here has been very iffy…lots of rain, thunderstorms, etc. I definitely be getting out this week.

Flashing my stash…
Well, I did it…I had a quickie:satan:.
Inspired by a post at the knittinghelp.com forum, I decided to straighten out my stash storage a bit! I only spent about 10 minutes, but the stash area is looking much more organized:cheer:.
At least most of the yarn is out of the shopping bag/box that it came in. I am REALLY glad I did this. I have more yarn than I can possibly knit in a year if not two years! In my defense, much of it was from 40 and 50% off sales…I know…quit rationalizing.

Trendsetter Yarn-Voila Prints
I began a scarf last night for something mindless before my next “major” project. This is the first time I have worked with the Trendsetter Viola Print yarn (color 19), and I love it! It is VERY soft and has a nice pattern. It would be so luxurious for a sweater.
