My yarn came from Knitwerx today. I can’t wait to get started on the jacket with “Curly”!

My bum shoulder
Another follow up apointment for my shoulder today. If you’re just joining the party, I had shoulder surgery on June 8, 2005. Five weeks ago. It has been a LLLLLOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG 5 weeks. No golf, restricted knitting, no running…its a miracle I am still sane (at least as sane as I normally am, which is questionable). Yesterday was a depressing shoulder day. It was sore from knitting…yes, knitting. Doesn’t that seem crazy? So I went to physical therapy pretty depressed. Luckily for me, my therapist must see that quite a bit and did a pretty good job getting me out of my little mood.
Since I have to get out to go to my appointment anyway, I think I really need to hit Knit Happens in Oakley again. It is maybe 10 minutes from the doctor’s office, which is way too close not to pay it a visit. On the one hand :thumbsdn: they are going out of business, on the upside though  all yarn and needles are 50% off. Oh joy. I am still so on yarn probation, but how can one possibly pass up beautiful (Debbie Bliss, Trendsetter, Baby Alpaca, Cascade, cashmere, jo sharp, etc. etc) yarn at that much of a discount? OOOOOOHHHH, another thought…maybe it is even MORE than 50% off by now. Must go. NOW.

Cutest Cat Contest!
Since everyone thinks their cat is the cutest, I am sure there will be a lot of entries to this contest. Lucia of the Knitting Fiend blog is sponsoring The Knitting Fiend’s Cute Cat Contest, 2005. The entry form is HERE. I don’t know if you want to bother to enter your cat though, since I think my Chinni is destined to win. :cheer: Please vote for him HERE.
In case you can’t tell which one is Chinni, he is the one where you can actually see his face. It is impossible though to photograph him without his brother Rocky, as they are ALWAYS together. Gives a more literal meaning to siamese, doesn’t it? They are both 5 year old Applehead Siamese. You can read more about the Applehead Siamese at breeder Diane Dunaway’s information page. Our little babies came from her and we couldn’t be happier with them.

FO’s???
While it would appear that I am being totally unproductive with my :knitting:, that is simply not the case! I have actually finished several items lately…if I show them to you though, I would have to kill you!
Seriously though, I have been busy “designing”. Some places require that the item can’t have been previously shown, so I am blindly obeying.

Danger follow-up
Since the article mentioned googling a name and coming up with blogs, I tried that one myself. Since this blog is so new, I thought (wrongly) that there was no way it could have been indexed so quickly. Both google and MSN pulled it up without any digging required.
Did I mention not posting stuff that you wouldn’t want people to read????

On the dangers of blogging…
While reading this knitting blog I read this article on blogging. Shouldn’t it stand to reason that anything you post online is OBVIOUSLY available to anyone?:w/stupid: If it’s something you don’t want potentially EVERYONE to read, don’t post it! Especially if you have future political aspirations

MORE YARN!!!!
Does anyone else see a problem developing here??? I was just checking out the new sticky Amy has on the buy/sell/swap forum at KnittingHelp for “tell us about your knitting business”. Has anyone else checked out KnitWerx???
I just broke my yarn probation (AGAIN) since they have great prices and a 10% discount coupon right now. I ordered some lovely yarn: Curly for THIS jacket that I already have the pattern for (the pattern even calls for this specific yarn…how bizarre is that??? I rarely use the specified yarn!). Alpaca Boucle because I love Alpaca! No special plans for it yet, but I think it will make a YUMMY sweater. Rio, only one skein of this to try, just because it looks soooooo fun and Tona, just because it looks warm and comfy.:jump::jump::jump: Can’t wait to get it!
Gotta quit fooling around here and get to knitting!!!!!!!!!

ARRGH, computers!
Finally an end to a frustrating saga of a windows xp clean install (media center was acting wacky and my research convinced me this was my last resort). I couldn’t get my Dell 8400 to boot from my Philips DVD, so I couldn’t completely wipe out the hard drive for teh new installation. After some searching online, I was totally convinced that the DVD player was the problem…many forum people complaining that this this DVD player from dell was a peice of crap.
I went out and bought a new DVD player. At this point I figured it was either that or I was going to have to pay someone anyway to come over here and get things straightened out. I had uninstalled, reinstalled, new drivers, etc…up to this point. Once I got into the PC to put in the new DVD, I noticed that the jumper on the CD player and on the DVD player were both set to “cable” instead of “master” and “slave”. After I moved the pins and did a restart with the same old DVD player, it finally worked! YAY me!
If only I could figure these things out in an hour or two instead of three days!

Much cooler blog…
I have been talking to the “tech wench”, about giving my little blog a makeover. It appears she is in need of computer upgrades and I am in need of a fun theme. Her portfolio looks great, so I think this could be an excellent experience.
I use to love writing code in the “good old days” of plain HTML in a text file. I got a little behind though:doh:! I should’ve kept up with it because I do really enjoy web design. When I was on the GCWGA board, I developed a whole new website look via FrontPage and a lot of cut and paste javascript. Unfortunately, now that I am gone, they changed it…I don’ t like it nearly as much…I thought mine was MUCH more professional (of course I would think that since “I” did it!!!). After installing WordPress I realized all the cool new things I could do, if I had more of a clue about php code and css files for web design. Maybe after I get sick of
HA, I will recommit myself to that hobby.
There simply aren’t enough hours in the day!!!
