Wire, it’s not just for bras any more
Ok…I still have no progress on the tank. The funk however, does seem to be abating. I got a serious wild hair on Friday and became totally obsessed with wire knitting. I needed to try it and needed to try it RIGHT THEN! Off to Michael’s and Hobby Lobby I went. Would you believe neither of them carries a decent flexible jewelry wire? No matter. I decided to just get what they had and try it anyway.![]()
Let me just say…this wire, definitely not for knitting. After just a couple of minutes my hands were already sore and needles bent. Not only that, but it looked like crap too. Maybe it was just the small needles? Or my impatience? No way to tell except to try again. Different needles, different approach, same result. I even “blocked” the wire a bit and it looked a little better but it still had more kinks than a British pop invasion.
Ever since then, I’ve been scouring suppliers to see where I can get some decent wire to knit with and sell in my store. I have a few prospects, but haven’t made any decisions yet.
Until I can solve the perfect knit wire mystery, I will be knitting my first Noni Bag! These patterns have been so popular that I really need to make one myself so I can be more knowledgeable about the product. Besides that, all of them are so stinkin’ cute that I don’t think I can go another day without one. Progress report likely VERY soon

Is anybody home?
This will be quick, but I just want to assure you I am still alive. I’m sad to report that there hasn’t been a lot of any knitting! So, since this is a knitting blog…the reason I have not been posting. It’s not just my own blog that I have neglected but the blogs of my bloggy friends (it’s ok…just let me live my fantasy life of having famous blog friends with whom I silently commune and practically know like family)! I think I have about 21 Crazy Aunt Purl, 10 JenLa, 10 Crochet Dude, 14 Rabbitch and who knows how many Yarn Harlot posts to read. I fully intend to glut myself on blogs in the near future. Perhaps even make it a 24 hour blog reading marathon? Wouldn’t that make a good post?
I can’t fully explain the lack of knitting, but I have a clue as to when it began. Anyone remember the tank I started? Well, I got to a point where I began working on the straps (thus being 4/5 finished) and then hit the proverbial wall. All I need to do is try the $*(@&! thing on and figure out how long the straps should be. This tiny task has fully prevented me from starting any other project. I have no idea why…I’m not a knitting monogamist by any stretch. In fact, there are at least 6 other things on the needles I could work on right now. It’s like this silly tank has put a curse on my knitting. Or maybe some other nefarious knit blogger who I have neglected to read. Yes, that must be it. A curse is really the only way to explain this aberration. I need help. Any potions, pills, verses or acts that will appease the knitting gods and remove the curse? I need help…the voodoo is strong!
