being a diva is great…except for the mostly negative connotation

um, Hello?

Although it’s really not that unusual for one of us bloggers to be away for a while, I really feel awful about my absence.  More for my own sake than anyone who may be out there reading!  I’ve come to think of my blog as a way of tracking not only knitting but other little life occurrences…at least those I feel comfortable sharing.  To that end; my last month or so in review.

Thanksgiving:  Continuing the tradition, Jim and I flew to Florida to spend Thanksgiving with his mom and her friend.  A few bottles of wine and a few pounds of turkey later, we left happy, full and somewhat rested if a little heavier.

I was then home for two days in which I received my latest fiber treat…a wheel (pics later…I wasn’t even home long enough to put it together)!  Since I know you’ll be wondering, it’s an Ashford Traveller.  Since I already purchase fiber and accessories from the Ashford dealer it was a convenient chose.  It also happens to be a nice, solid versatile wheel based on what I have read about it.  I know, I know…I’ve said lots of times that I wanted to avoid ever buying one to avoid yet another expensive and time consuming hobby.  Turns out the lure of hand dyed, hand spun fiber is too great.  I’ve never even spindle spun y’all but I’m looking forward to the experience of learning on my own (at least initially).  Turns out just like in knitting, there are not only several helpful spinning blogs but also a plethora of videos, books, articles and things of that nature.  I couldn’t resist that phrase.  Does anyone else watch Conan?  The guy that does the impression of Arnold Schwarzenegger is hysterical…and the like.  Cracks me up every time…

To be continued :)
