Sweet progress

bodyI hope everyone had as lovely a holiday as I did!  We were able to escape the cold by visiting my mother in law in Ft. Lauderdale.  Eighty degrees every day is not a bad way to spend Thanksgiving!  Due to the flight and serious turkey comas I had plenty of time to work on Autumn Rose.  I cast on the body on the plane (I never would have thought I’d consider this “plane knitting”) and was able to make great progress ever since.  I am just about at the 10th increase where I cast on the stitches for the steeks.  The astute among you may notice yet another little blunder.  I’ve decided to say I did it on purpose.1  I think I was so excited to be finished with the corrugated rib of the body that I just immediately jumped into the circle pattern.  It didn’t seem odd at the time since that is exactly the way it is in the picture.  However, I am making the 39″ size which means I should have several rows of the sunrise/madder section first.  This is one time I’m glad to be short waisted.  I think it will work out fine.  Plus, with my love of wet blocking I should be able to eek out a little extra length.

Right before we left for Thanksgiving, I had an idea for a holiday contest.  The fates did not cooperate in getting it up before Thanksgiving as I planned but I will have it up Monday.  One of the prizes will be Crazy Aunt Purl’s Drunk, Divorced, and Covered in Cat Hair: The True-Life Misadventures of a 30-Something Who Learned to Knit After He Split by Laurie Perry…it has been read once and should be passed on so someone else can enjoy it.  Other prizes to be announced after I check out the stash :free:
