Disaster narrowly averted
As you can see from this photo, Hemlock was almost finished. I knew the bind off was going to take a lot of yarn, so I made sure I had at least a whole skein left for it. I even cut my last pattern repeat one row short so I had some of that skein left as well. Seems like that should have been enough, no? No. Not enough. I really didn’t want to undo so many feet of bind off if I didn’t have to so I went in search of more yarn. I posted on Ravelry to the ISO board and sent a message to someone that used this Bunny Paint yarn for a project. However, since it’s a Christmas gift and I have no patience, I went right over to Webs to order another ball. THEY ARE OUT OF THIS COLOR…I guess that is one disadvantage to planning Christmas knitting so far ahead and taking your sweet time to work on it. Fortunately, ebay saved the day. Hemlock is now complete and will be blocked today as soon as Lisa’s stole is off the blocking bed. Oh, did I forget to mention that? Not one but TWO WIPs were completed this weekend (actually 3 if you count Friday as ”the weekend). :bananadance: More pictures to come! Specs:
Hemlock Ring Blanket, adapted by Jared Flood. Size 13 Denise needles, 15.5 skeins Tahki Bunny Paint color 74, 105 rows of pattern worked. Unblocked size approximately 60″ diameter. Finished measurements TBA after blocking.
The small project I started and finished on Friday was a Cleveland Browns hat for Jim. It was super quick and easy in Berkshire Bulky and I tried a new cast on…alternating color long tail. I’ll get a picture of him in it, which will be soon I’m sure since it has started to turn cold and has officially snowed.1
